Vardan & Mariam — Wedding in Yerevan, Armenia

Vardan and Mariam were married in a traditional Armenian church ceremony and celebrated with their family and friends at The Vahakni, a wedding venue on the edge of Yerevan.

Inside the church, the ceremony followed the old rituals: candlelight at the stone altar, the priest’s blessing, and the crowns held above the couple’s heads. There was a quiet moment between the two of them before they turned to walk out.

I photographed the day on both digital and film, keeping the black-and-white for the quiet moments inside and colour for the joy outside.
